We slowed down just a touch this month but still logged 122,223 yards in September! We are deliciously close to our first million, and we have officially exited the Thermosphere! Let’s keep ramping up, logging yardage, inviting friends, and keeping those fingers busy so we can make it out of Earth’s atmosphere.
Read MoreWe’ve spent so long in a state of hypervigilance, fear of socializing, and isolation that it’s hard to remember the toll all this takes on our spirit. If you’re feeling burnt out, tempted toward despair, hopeless, unsatisfied, and incapable of raising your energy, you are not alone. You’re in good company, and you’re likely already doing all the right things to lay groundwork for your future. Tell your inner critic to take a vacation; we’re in this for the long haul.
Read MoreRevolution doesn’t immediately mean bloody battlefields. In fact, the battles often take place within us as we fight internalized social pressures while nurturing our own healing.
Remember that all press is good press. Rather than give power to the systems that we know aren’t working, let’s shake them with our own disbelief in their success. Play big and live small even and especially if it frustrates the capitalistic mob.
Read MoreWoo! We definitely picked up speed in August and crocheted (and knitted) a whopping 132,513 yards. Great work everyone! Thank you to all our new astronauts who joined this month. We need your rocket fuel (I mean, yarn)!
Read MoreProbably because summer is in full swing here, we entered a little bit of a lull both with yardage added and will new people joining. Thank you to those of you who are holding strong. We crocheted about 92,000 yards as a collective this past month, which is still nothing to sneeze at!
Read MoreThough the delta variant continues to rage and, at least in our neck of the woods, fire season approaches, we refuse to give in or give up. Instead, we remind ourselves that we are playing a long game and that, even if the cosmic earthquakes have cracked the foundations, even if the ripple effects haven’t reached the penthouses yet, worldwide shifts in consciousness have begun.
Read MoreSo exciting to see our little group of astronauts growing! We have lots of new people joining us this month as we continue reaching toward the Thermosphere.
Read MoreAs you live through humanity’s only chance to turn the tides, how do you bear witness? Where are your narratives naked facts and where do you romanticize? Watch how you form memories about this period, which will—undoubtedly—go down in the history books, and notice your strategies for unbiased observation.
Read MoreWith opportunities knocking and a fast-filling calendar, we’re staring down a month of excitement, anticipation, dread, overwhelm, and curiosity. What we once took for granted has suddenly become novel again as we step into the spotlight.
Read MoreThank you to everyone who counted up their yardage and posted it in the last week; that made all the difference! We blew our goal of making it to the space station this month out of the water. In May, we logged 96,501 yards as a collective. We are definitely gaining momentum, and we’ll make it to our next milestone before you know it.
Read MoreWhile you might think making yarn would be easy—isn’t it just, like, twisting some threads together?—there are so many steps that go into processing fiber from start to finish, not to mention the care for the animals that many natural fibers come from.
Read MoreAs a person who identifies as a plural and finds it useful to identify characters or sub-agents in my mind, each new character is not necessarily a new part of me. It is a piece of me that has, before now, operated below the surface of my awareness, and I want to “disambiguate” that identity to bring it into focus, make friends, and share knowledge.
Read MoreWhen I say I am a plural system, what I mean is that I articulate my concept of self in terms of many people. Speaking in terms of “me” and “I” is accurate enough, for most interactions, but it’s a simplification. What’s actually happening from my(our) point of view, is that a whole team of people confer about what to say and agree on how to say it. “I” am a collaboration.
Read MoreGood news! If we use as much yarn as we did last month, we’ll make it to the space station! This month, we collectively logged 78,120 yards, and we have lots of new astroknitters and crocheters!
Read MoreHaving lived through a collective trauma and disaster, we have the impression that more and more people are waking up to what needs to change. The flood of momentum toward progress, toward a decrease in suffering, toward a redefinition of success has broken free of its dam and is heading straight for you. How will you surf these tumultuous yet exhilarating waters?
Read MoreWith so many things to choose from, it can be hard to request a crochet commission, so I made a list of what I’m excited to start working on so you can choose from patterns currently in my queue!
Read MoreIn the rush of excitement coming from the combination of vaccines and warmer weather, we’re all feeling the collective push toward movement, reopening, and acquainting ourselves with the post-pandemic world. As you begin the process of reemergence, know that you set the pace.
Read MoreThis month, we collectively logged almost 100,000 yards, which is more than three times our monthly record!
Read MoreIn attempting to be a conscious and thoughtful consumer in a deeply interconnected society, and more specifically, in an urban environment, the amount of thought, labor, money, and time involved in finding workarounds to ensure ethical consumption easily become overwhelming. Even going back to the age-old proverb of “do no harm,” that quickly becomes impossible. The only solution for this dilemma seems to be to create a hierarchy of harm that allows you to choose your level of commitment and still have the greatest possible impact.
Read MoreThis month, we invite you to excavate your experiences and belief structures around morality, identify the magic you employ in your journey toward wholeness, explore your relationship to ease and stillness, and project into the possibilities you want to bring into reality.
